Went over to Playa Pariaso last Sunday and stayed till Wednesday, the weather was excellent Blue skies, a little breezy but got to 18C on back balcony.

The promenade connected up to Playa Honda is looking good. According to one of the Builders i spoke too the reason that its not tiled is that we are in a conservation area and the rustic look was the only option?

There was also a dozen flamingos on the 2nd salinas. they look like they are starting to come back, fantastic.

So if we're in a conservation area, I wonder if that lessens the chances of an eyesore being built next to the Sports Centre.

In regards to Julie Reece and the tank full and bring it back full make sure you read the paper work you get at the airport as there might be a sting in the tail. I too was promised this but got a bill when i got home for a more then full tank of fuel and it was only when i translated the itemised bill i found they had inserted a bill for Carburente of € 85.00. This was with Gold Car so hopefully you might not be so unlucky.

Thanks Bob for your reply. We are aware of the prices that are charged at the airport for fuel when you rent a car. I just object to paying for a full tank to take it back empty when I've only used 10euros of petrol. As I come over regularly I am pleased that I can choose between taking the car back empty or full. I can't count the number of times we've put 5 euros of petrol in the tank on the way up to the airport and hope we make it!!!! Thanks for advice.

There is something to be said for always hiring from the same company, even if they are not quite the cheapest.

We have hired from the same people over fifty times. Now they know us well and are very flexible. Good discounts, free upgrades, any driver over 25, no problems with changed bookings, new cars and return with the same fuel level as supplied.

Just booked next years car hire through carjet and they are offering full tank return empty or full tank return full. The price differs by about 40 euros but it is nice having the option. Just have to work out which is the best deal each time.

Hi

Have a look at Jet2 website & go to news, then November 2011 archive. This gives their views on things.

Amazing!! Took a walk today to see how it was going, and the new promenade and footpaths are complete, open and in use !!
Latest photos are on the usual link, could only take them from Playa Honda end because of the sun, but they still show how good it is all looking. All the works vehicles have gone, just 2 little men with a hosepipe watering in the new plants
We take regular walks along past camping to Mar de Cristal, but no sign as yet of any attempt/intention to take it any further, not even a surveyors peg, despite the rumours in the Ayuntamientos press releases.

Thanks for keeping us up to date, we have been coming down there for about eight years now and each time there has been an improvement. It certainly makes it interesting for us and our visitors. Looking forward to returning in April.

Thanks Bob for the ongoing photos of the development of the promenade! It's great to see it all improving despite the recession! We can't wait to walk along it when we come out mid March!
